Trillium (Trillium ovatum)
Trillium is a long-lived perennial herb of mature forests in the Pacific Northwest. It emerges early in spring, taking advantage of increased light before canopy closure. Trillium is slow-growing and highly sensitive to disturbance.

Ecological Role
Trillium contributes to early-season pollinator support and participates in forest understory diversity. Its seeds are dispersed primarily by ants, linking it to soil-level mutualisms. The species serves as an indicator of low-disturbance forest habitats.
