Quest on!

Many of us move through the natural world while our attention drifts, occupied with thoughts that have nothing to do with where we are. These quests tap into a creative spirit found within us all.

Treasures are rewarded at the completion of every question. Be warned, dangers may await those who seek discovery!

Difficulty: Easy

Find and correctly identify four different wildflowers. Take a photo of each. Imagine each flower as the banner symbol of a distinct region. Describe the people or creatures who live there and note any rivalries between them.

Difficulty: Easy

Find a quiet place in nature, or the quietest place available to you. Sit and observe for ten uninterrupted minutes. Write a four-line poem using an ABAB rhyme scheme that reflects what you noticed. Share it.

Reward

A response poem written in return, echoing your structure and theme.

Signs of Small Folk

Difficulty: Moderate

Find the home of a fairy or goblin and quickly snap a picture of it. Don't get too close at risk of disturbing the creature. Describe the good (or sinister) activities the creature might be causing in the area.

Disclaimer: I shall not be liable for any foul encounters with the fair (or not so fair) folk.

Reward

A cartographic distribution map of the discovered creature.

Reward

A custom fantasy map of your local area, rendered in a Tolkien cartographic style.
